Two of the most well known names in cinema history, Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee will forever be linked. Although they hailed from seperate sides of the globe, they were brought together through their love for martial arts.
Bruce Lee, widely credited for the modern westernisation of Wing Chun, to an extent Kung Fu all together, made his name in Hollywood through the 1960’s and early 70’s. Films such as ‘Enter The Dragon,’ ‘Fist of Fury’ and ‘Way of the Dragon.’
His very unique take on martial arts means Bruce Lee is now credited with being the godfather of MMA. In Enter the Dragon Lee can be seen using small gloves while practicing both striking and grappling on an opponent.
In the hit movie’Way of the Dragon,’ Bruce Lee starred opposite Chuck Norris. It was an early role for Norris, arguably the first major movie he’d been cast in, and the two martial arts action stars fought in a portrayed battle to the death.
Bruce Lee would win his fictitious battle with Chuck Norris, but in 1973 the Chinese star would lose his fight with destiny. At just 32 years of age, the hero of martial arts cinema died tragically, but it was somewhat shrouded in mystery.
