He might have dominated Ovince St-Preux at UFC 197, but Jon Jones warmed up on this poor lady…

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones returned to action last night, at the highly anticipated UFC 197 pay-per-view. It wasn’t all good for the main event slot, as original opponent and current champion Daniel Cormier was stuck in the commentary booth due to injury.

Ovince Saint-Preux was the man who stepped up to replace DC, and he wasn’t quite up to the task of defeating “Bones.” The ex-champ was able to keep OSP at arms length for all five rounds, also controlling his opponent on the mat.

So it was a relatively straight forward win for Jon Jones, but what did he prove out there with this performance? He wasn’t able to finish St-Preux, who took the fight on just two weeks notice, and certainly didn’t look anywhere near the level of dominance during his reign as champion.

In the co-main event Demetrious Johnson made his case for being the pound-for-pound number one, destroying Henry Cejudo with a brilliant display of Muay Thai skills.

But back to Jon Jones, who landed a clean punch before he’d even stepped in the octagon at UFC 197…
