Conor shows off his striking, publishes video…

According to Conor, one of his proteges sent him a video of him hitting pads and asked for advice. Conor filmed a video response to the student and then decided to publish it online. He also took the time to take a jab at rival Floyd Mayweather while he was at it.

In addition to giving advice to his student, Conor also makes a few noteworthy comments in the video’s description, comments which are leading some to believe he is no longer confident the bout is going to happen.

Does Conor Think Floyd Is Going To Fight?

According to Conor, he may have to go back to what he refers to as “real fighting” if Floyd backs out. He also mentions possibly facing Manny Pacquiao instead, not what you would expect to hear from someone who believes the fight is going to happen.

Floyd may crap his jocks after all and if so I will go back to true fighting or just pick another boxer like manny or something. But whatever that’s another conversation.

The video also serves as a notice to fans that Conor is strictly training boxing at the moment. He is quick to point out he isn’t neglecting MMA for boxing over the long-term however.

@thenotoriousmma: Here is a reply video I sent one of my protégés who was seeking advice on some boxing only pad work footage they sent me. I believe you will like it. The focus has been solely boxing lately but make no mistakes, the kicking and grappling aspects, and everything else got to do with unlimited free fighting, is still very much present in my thoughts.

Conor mentions he loves to build fighters, and also that one of his proteges is fighting this weekend. Artem Lobov faces Cub Swanson in the main event of this weekend’s UFC Fight Night in Nashville event.

Should Conor and Floyd actually face each other one day, it will be interesting to see if Conor decides to box with him, or try something completely unexpected. It would not be unlike Conor to go into such a bout with an unusual strategy.
