BREAKING: Conor McGregor Backs Down… Promises Octagon Return

By Dazzler

After Being Arrested, Accused of Sexual Assault and Pretending to be Retired, Conor McGregor Has Now Promised Fans That They Will See Him in the Octagon Again… What is Going on in the Irishman’s Head?

Whatever Dana White said to Conor McGregor must have worked because ‘The Notorious’ appears to have backed down from his Twitter feud with Khabib Nurmagamedov. The pair have been going back and forth in a toxic beef which culminated in McGregor calling the Russian’s wife ‘a goat under a towel’ and Khabib responding by calling McGregor ‘a rapist.’

None of this looks good for the UFC because they are two of the most high-profile athletes on the roster. Their rivalry has already seen McGregor spend a night in a Brooklyn jail cell, while the two are currently sitting out suspended after the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.

Dana White promised to intervene after their online feud took a shocking turn. Well, it seems to have worked. Check out the Irishman’s latest tweet below. The tone is very different…

See You

Let’s not forget that McGregor has been pretending to be retired for the last week. Of course, nobody believed him because he pulled the same trick back in 2016. After being accused of racism, ‘The Notorious’ issued a response on Twitter:

“I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all background. All faiths challenge us to be our best selves. It is one world and one for all. Now see you in the Octagon.”

If you call a Muslim woman ‘a goat under a towel,’ your sponsors are probably going to start getting involved, so it’s not much of a surprise that he’s moved to control the damage. It is too late though for McGregor and has he lost a lot of fans because of all this nonsense?

It all came to a head when Khabib  – naturally infuriated by his wife being called a ‘goat’ – responded by referring to McGregor’s latest criminal allegations. It has been alleged that McGregor could be facing charges of sexual assault for an incident that took place in a hotel in Dublin. It is believed that these charges are being taken very seriously by Irish police. Khabib wrote:

“Rapist, you are Rapist. You are a hypocrite who is not responsible for your actions. Justice will find you. We will see.”

No wonder the UFC got involved. You don’t want one of your champions branding your most marketable asset a rapist.

Now that all this nonsense is over, hopefully, we’ll get to see McGregor make a comeback in the summer as planned. It is believed that he wanted shares in the company but the UFC has basically said that CM Punk will beat Khabib before that happens. Right now he needs to clean his image up.

“I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor,” Dana White said, via a UFC press release. “The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally.”

This row isn’t over.
