Flashback: That Time Mike Tyson Caught Wesley Snipes Messing With His Girl

There are so many legendary stories about former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. He was without doubt the most dangerous and feared puncher of his generation, but also very troubled outside the ring.

Fighting his way through poverty and desperation as a youth, Tyson eventually found his way to Cus D’Amato and Mickey Rooney. D’Amato was the trainer of legends such as Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres, and ‘Iron Mike’ was definitely his greatest prodigy.

At age 15 years old Tyson was knocking fully grown men out cold in the ring, and by 20 he was world champion. Wining the three major professional boxing titles, ‘Kid Dynamite’ was the youngest boxer in recorded history to do so.

But the passing of D’Amato, the split from Rooney and the betrayal by Tyson’s so-called friends would eventually lead to a very dark period in the talented KO artist’s life. He became embroiled in taking drugs and eventually served time in prison for allegedly assaulting a woman.

By all accounts, inside and outside the ring, Mike Tyson was not a man to be trifled with. It may come as a surprise to many to hear that Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes tried his hand at messing with Tyson’s woman…

Rudy Gonzalez, Mike Tyson’s former bodyguard revealed a wild story about the time Mike knocked Wesley Snipes out cold in a club. Apparently Snipes had been seeing Tyson’s girl, and things got heated when the boxing champ caught them red handed:

“One night after (Mike Tyson’s girlfriend) Hope had visited MT (Mike Tyson) in his LA apartment, he told me to follow her. She had left earlier than usual, telling him that she had to visit a friend. He wanted me to find out where she went, if she made any calls, if she talked to anybody, everything that she did after leaving him that night. So I grabbed the black Lamborghini Diablo and kept a safe distance … At Roscoes, a soulfood hangout in downtown LA, she parked, got out of the car and walked over to a black Lexus … her friend turned out to be actor Wesley Snipes.

“(Tyson) was paging me. I called him back to let him know the situation … Less than ten minutes later, he pulled up in a yellow Testarosa, accompanied by a new bodyguard Anthony Pitts. Anthony was a former professional football player, stood about 6’7, and weighed in around 250. Tyson jumped out of the Ferrari.

“…When Hope caught sight of him, she practically fell out of Snipes lap and onto the floor. The actor froze then waved a hand”‘Now, Mike, now, Mike, we can do this together. I dont want no problem.

“‘Let’s go into the bathroom!’ Tyson snapped.

“When I returned from the parking lot, I noticed Anthony was blocking the bathroom door. A couple minutes later we heard a big noise inside, and then Tyson emerged alone.

“After he was gone, I cracked open the bathroom door. Wesley Snipes was sitting against the far wall, head tilted to one side, unconscious.”
