George Foreman doesn’t know who Conor McGregor is…
During the entirety of 2016 fans were bombarded with media frenzy over Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. Both men are superstars in their own right, Mayweather in boxing and McGregor in mixed martial arts.
Having shared this highly unlikely feud for nearly two years, things took a strange turn earlier this year. Although Dana White would deny the possibility of this superfight actually happening, the wheels were set in motion.
The Nevada Athletic Commission confirmed talks were underway, and so started the media frenzy, again.
Name Recognition
Taking some time off after UFC 205, the new lightweight champ McGregor seemed to be talking even more. Once the Mayweather connection came up again, fans were thinking that the Irishman was simply name dropping.
Winning a second title in New York made ‘The Notorious’ a huge star. Labelling as the Muhammad Ali of MMA, some media outlets looked like a shrine to McGregor after he TKO’d Eddie Alvarez.
Boxing legend George Foreman, however, says no-one even knows McGregor’s name, and refers to him as ‘that guy.’
Who The Fook Is Conor McGregor?
“The other guy, no one even knew his name and now he keeps flirting with the idea of him fighting Floyd Mayweather,” Foreman said. “He should take advantage of that and go out and fight 100 more people and wait until the Mayweather fight happens. He’s famous now. He’s almost a household name and he was not until the talk of him fighting Mayweather. It doesn’t even have to happen. I’m not buying anymore Mayweather fights. Best believe that. Not me.”
