What a time to be Israel Adesanya. ‘The Last Stylebender’ is officially the middleweight champion of the world and he’s determined to make his voice heard. He defeated Robert Whittaker to consolidate his status as the best 185lb fighter on the planet. Now he’s looking ahead to his next fight.
That’s set to be against Paulo Costa. The pair have developed a grudge between them, but Adesanya is already looking towards bigger fights. Jon Jones is the name on his lips. In short, the two men don’t like each other at all. Jones has targeted Adesanya multiple times on Twitter.
Adesanya was interviewed by Ariel Helwani and revealed his thoughts about Jones. Unsurprisingly, he’s convinced that he can beat ‘Bones’ and humble the man many believe to be the best in the world.

When Helwani asked Adesanya what he made of Jones’s latest tweet, the Nigerian-New Zealander was not impressed. He responded to Jones with a brutal statement. Adesanya insisted that he will defend his title first and establish a legacy before he comes for Jones.
“My confidence? Get my fu*king nuts out of your mouth. This guy is trying to force my hand. I’m not stupid. It’s not about me not being confident. I will f**k this motherf**ker up when I fight him. I just have to do what I have to do, I have to defend my belt.”
Jealous
Adesanya believes that Jones is simply jealous that he’s the UFC’s new golden boy. The 205lb king is very popular in the MMA world but he has not broken into the mainstream like Conor McGregor or Ronda Rousey. That’s due in significant part to the fact that he’s been in trouble too many times. Now it’s Adesanya’s time.
“He’s just contradicting himself and trying to take my moment,” Adesanya said. “You can’t even f*ck with me right now, dude. Look at me! Who the f**k is the new face of UFC? Do you think Jon Jones can ever pull some sh*t like that? I saw him with that bullsh*t-ass Nelly entrance when he did the electric slide. You can’t f**k with me on anything.”

Stadium Fight
‘The Last Stylebender’ says that Jones’s time will come. However, he will defend his title before stepping up a division. He doesn’t want to receive the same criticisms as Henry Cejudo and Conor McGregor. You’re not a real champion unless you’ve defended your belts. He said:
“I am going to defend my belt actively. I am not going to be like him and fight twice a year. Let me defend my belt, then I will move up and f**k him up.”
The new middleweight champion has said that he wants to fight Jones in the Raiders Stadium in 2021. Of course, Jones could be a heavyweight by then. Either man could lose in the meantime. Maybe he should strike while the iron is hot.
