It’s a fine balance between keeping real and sounding totally fake. That’s what many MMA fighters find out when they go down the route of trash-talking. Some fighters just sound so contrived and forced that it really just comes off very badly and leaves fans covering their ears in disgust.
We’ve seen some terrible attempts in the past and we want to give dishonourable mentions to Ben Rothwell and CM Punk. Neither of them has been active enough recently to make their way onto this list. Paige VanZant is another who could have forced her way onto it as well.

10. Israel Adesanya
The interim middleweight champion is one of the slickest strikers in MMA today. You can’t take your eyes off of him when he’s fighting but sometimes you wish you didn’t have to listen to him. With a nickname like ‘The Last Stylebender’, not everybody is going to like him, but it’s trash talk with Robert Whittaker that’s turned off some fans.
He’s called Whittaker a ‘methhead’ and promised to gain revenge for the Australian’s trash-talk. The only problem with that is that we’re not even sure if Whittaker is capable of talking trash. He does all his talking in the cage. Adesanya needs to calm down.
