Mixed martial arts (MMA) is one of the toughest sports in the world. If you become a champion, you’ve proven that you’re the best in that particular weight class. But some champs are more entertaining than others.

The UFC has had some incredibly exciting champions. Jose Aldo, Max Holloway, Amanda Nunes, the list goes on and on. There’s nothing that fans love more than fighters who bring the action in the Octagon. However, not every champion is willing to go all out when they’re defending their title.

So today, we’re going to look at the 10 most boring champions of all time. Some of them are legends, but in hindsight, their styles weren’t exactly the most exciting. Others blatantly ducked the top contender and annoyed fans for holding up the division.

Here are the 10 most boring UFC champions ever. Enjoy!

10. Bas Rutten

Rutten is a legend beloved by fans all over the world, but there’s no denying that his time as UFC heavyweight champion was an unmitigated disaster. The former King of Pancrase champion captured the belt after a horribly boring win over Kevin Randleman at UFC 20. He would win that fight by split decision.

That was as good as it got for Rutten as UFC champion. He’d end up vacating the title because of injuries and we’d never see him fight for the promotion again. While his overall career was unbelievable, his title reign wasn’t all that memorable at all.
