Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort is currently waiting for his ONE Championship debut. The Brazilian star will fight the equally muscled Alain Ngalaini in a battle of chemical warfare. However, Belfort has his eye on another opponent and a fellow UFC champion.

Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract has ended. The wrestling promotion even took down his merchandise from their online store. This happens every so often but in reality, Lesnar ends up staying with the sports entertainment brand. It’s also the most likely outcome in this situation.

However, both current and former UFC fighters are interested in making the biggest payday of their lives. Belfort added his name to the list of athletes who would like to exploit Lesnar’s fame and drawing power for their own ends. But he wants a bare-knuckle fight. Yes. You read that correctly.

Fraud

Belfort says that Lesnar is a fraud and that he wants to fight him without gloves. Of course, this is all bluster but it gets Belfort’s name out there so you can’t blame him for taking advantage of the moment. In sum, he ranted to Submission Radio about Lesnar’s history as an MMA fighter. Remember this is coming from a man who had more chemicals in his body than Saddam Hussein’s weapons armory.

“Brock Lesnar, I think you’re a fraud. But I’ll give you a chance,” Belfort said. “I think you’re a fraud. If you really want to fight with me, let’s go bare hands, me and you. We put the gloves, we go combat, you know? I know you’re a very tough man. I heard you’re a grappler, but I’ll fight you, man. I’ll fight you any day, any time, and I think that’s a legendary fight right there. But I think he’s a fraud in MMA.”

True Fighters

In Belfort’s eyes, the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Kimbo Slice were true fighters because of their journey. We live in an age where Youtubers book fights and pretend to be elite boxers. You need to have something different if you want people to respect you. Belfort said:

“We need to understand that MMA, a combat sport. Even YouTubers can fight. Even like if you’re a hockey player you can come and fight in these rules. That’s why it’s good, man, that’s what makes MMA so possible. You don’t need to have a career, you can make a career and you can become a persona and people can like you and they can buy you. Look at what Kimbo Slice did. And some make it. I take my hats off to the gangster, Masvidal. Because he really paid his way, man. People don’t realize, that guy paid his way. He deserves it.

Lucrative

The Brazilian admits that Lesnar is a massive draw but that he doesn’t deserve to be. He said that he wants to maul him but let’s be real, these two men are not going to fight. He said:

“So, I respect fighters that really paid their way. They deserve to be in the spotlight. But, you know, I understand he can be in the spotlight of WWE. So, that’s what I mean. A fraud for MMA is this. He doesn’t deserve it, but he sells, man. Let’s go Brock. I’ll put my hands on you. That would be nice. I’ll make him pink.”

UFC President Dana White says that he would make Jon Jones v Lesnar if both men were interested. Furthermore, Scott Coker is interested in a Bellator battle of Fedor Emelianenko v Lesnar. It’s not 2008 so that’s probably not going to happen. In all likelihood, the WWE gives him more money or he sidesteps into AEW.
