The Golden Boy Himself Has Called Out Dana White And Challenged Him to a Three-Round Boxing Match… Somehow We Don’t Think That The UFC President Will Accept…
Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya are feuding and it’s all getting a little bit tedious. Everybody knows that White loves nothing better than to have a massive fallout with somebody – one of his own fighters, a fellow promoter, his own mother – but this time it’s going a little bit stupid.
It all started when De La Hoya started Goldenboy MMA and promised to pay his fighters properly – unlike the UFC. Now let’s be real: Goldenboy MMA is rubbish. It has no vision except to make as much money as possible in the short-term while taking advantage of veteran fighters long past their sell-by date.
White just has to point out that the much-hyped trilogy fight between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell absolutely tanked, selling just short of 30,000 pay-per-views. That’s about as dismal as the video of De La Hoya bouncing around in women’s underwear. Now though, the former boxer has challenged White to a three-round boxing match.
Nothing
White has no time for De La Hoya’s nonsense, which is why he’s spending a lot of time talking about it. In recent days, he has called out the Mexican promoter and former champion for being a ‘cokehead’ and also described him as “Oscar De La Weirdo.”
“The guy wants to act like he’s my competitor,” White told Yahoo Sports. “I have a real business that I’ve built over the last 18 years. A real business, and I can hit you with numbers for days about [how successful it is]. How much has Oscar De La Hoya reinvested into the sport of boxing? We’ve reinvested millions and millions of dollars and we continue to do it every day. The list goes on and on.
“The guy wants to come out and tell lies and say things that make no sense when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He knows nothing about this sport. He doesn’t know the f***ing guys’ names who are fighting on his card. He’s a liar. He’s a phoney and God help anybody who wants to go fight for Golden Boy. These fighters are grown men and women. All they have to do is take one meeting with Oscar De La Hoya and they’ll see what he knows about MMA, which is absolutely f***ing nothing.”
In a fight between @OscarDeLaHoya and @danawhite, who you got?

Let’s Fight
What do little boys do when they get upset? They start to fight. That’s exactly what Oscar De La Hoya wants to set up with his ‘competitor.’ De La Hoya must be in desperate need of money because he said this on MMA on Sirius XM:
“Let’s get in the ring. Yeah, why not? Let’s get in the ring. Three rounds, let’s do this.
“Let’s do this under Canelo Cinco de Mayo. I’ll even give you five months so you can get off the juice and then we can, you know, get in great shape and then we go three rounds, and then, I’m going to give you what, a 50-pound advantage? That’s okay, I can take you on. Let’s do it.”
Nonsense
Obviously 49-year-old Dana White isn’t going to get into a ring with a six-weight world champion – even if he has let himself go in the past few years. It’s all posturing from the two men. The best way for White to deal with De La Hoya would be to ignore him. Sure the Mexican is a big deal in the boxing world, but in MMA he’s nothing.
White should instead be turning his attention to the threat of ONE, who has just signed a deal with Turner Sports to air their fights in America. This is a massive deal for the Asian promotion which is the biggest threat to UFC dominance over the MMA world.
