A “street fighter” walking into an MMA gym and thinking he can compete immediately is as delusional as it gets. You can be tough and strong, but if you don’t know what you’re doing and your opponent does, you are going to sleep.
Yet this kind of thing happens frequently. CM Punk recently did something similar, only on a larger stage. Perhaps this happens because fighting is so tied to ego that any tough guy assumes he can fight.

Street Thug Challenges Pro Fighter
You can tell in the video clip below that the “street fighter” has at least seen MMA or other combat sports before. He knows to keep his hands up, he just doesn’t know how to keep his head protected.
It perhaps wasn’t in his best interest to wear jogging pants and a white t-shirt either, as opposed to clothing that wouldn’t impede his motion any. That’s generally covered before taking your first class at a gym, but this guy hadn’t gotten that far yet.

“And We’re Done…”
One of the best things about this video, is the nonchalant commentary from the camera operator. You can tell by the way he is calling the action he knows exactly how this fight is going to end. That’s why he wasn’t surprised at all when the guy finally got put to sleep.

When He Wakes Up
So when this guy wakes up he will have learned a few valuable lessons:
1) When facing an opponent with a knockout right head kick, don’t switch stances and then immediately walk into his kicking range.
2) You don’t challenge trained fighters when you don’t know what you’re doing

Some Wisdom About Underestimation
“It is impossible to escape the impression that people commonly use false standards of measurement — that they seek power, success and wealth for themselves and admire them in others, and that they underestimate what is of true value in life.”
― Sigmund Freud, Civilization and Its Discontents“No matter how valuable you are and your ideas, fools will certainly play both of you down, so exclude yourselves from the inflammatory environs of fools.”
― Michael Bassey Johnson“Just because I give you my all, doesn’t mean I’m a pushover. Don’t make the mistake of underestimating me. Push too hard and you’ll see how strong I really am!”
― Karen Gibbs, A Gallery of Scrapbook Creations“We cannot control the way people interpret our ideas or thoughts, but we can control the words and tones we choose to convey them. Peace is built on understanding, and wars are built on misunderstandings. Never underestimate the power of a single word, and never recklessly throw around words. One wrong word, or misinterpreted word, can change the meaning of an entire sentence and start a war. And one right word, or one kind word, can grant you the heavens and open doors.”
― Suzy Kassem, Rise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem
match ups like this are mostly a question of “whose rules are we playing by?” A boxer going against a wrestler in a wrestling match will usually lose, and a wrestler going against a boxer in a boxing match will usually lose.
None of that really has much to do with actual “fighting”. These are combat sports. All combat sports are simulations of fights, but not actually fights. MMA is probably more like real fighting than most other combat sports, but it is still a combat sport, not a “fight”.
All of its a fight ,boxing, wrestling is just a limited for of fighting ,you don’t know what your talking about when it comes to fighting
What exactly made the “Street fighter” a thug? I didn’t see him rob anyone or throw up any gang signs unless all that was cut out of this video ….
He’s a punk too you don’t walk in a dojo or mma training to challenge it’s disrespect and an insult , if you think about doing that and do it your a punk in all aspects of life likely
Fair play for him to put his money where his mouth was – bet he’s training now!
