It’s a terrible time for the family, friends and fans of former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman. After the news broke that on February 11, 2016, ‘The Monster’ passed away when his heart stopped following complications due to pneumonia.

He was just 44 years of age, and left behind a family, friends all over the world, and a huge following from his time as a mixed martial arts athlete. Randleman’s journey in to the world of fighting professionally started way back in 1996, and continued on until his eventual retirement in 2011.

Fighting through some of the most brutal days of the sport., Randleman competed for Pride FC, Vale Tudo, the UFC, Strikeforce and many others. His untimely death has rocked the mixed martial arts community.

Touching tributes to the life of Kevin Randleman poured out across the internet, as his passing transcended the MMA scene and reached nearly every major news outlet all over the globe.

The former Ohio state NCAA division I champion had a big following from his time in the UFC and Pride FC, and the upsetting events of the past few days have shown that the MMA community can pull together to honor a fallen warrior.

‘The Monster’ will be missed by his children, wife, entire family for that matter, and a legion of fans and followers that reach through generations and break through language barriers. Thank you Kevin Randleman for your sacrifice to the sport, and for your positive attitude.
