Dillian Whyte forces Povetkin’s corner to throw in the TOWEL

Dillian Whyte has now regained his WBC Interim heavyweight belt by avenging his brutal knockout loss against Alexander Povetkin. Whyte looked in phenomenal shape which is impressive, considering he was just knocked out cold in his last match.

The fight was delayed a few times due to Povetkin testing positive for COVID. Some fans even pointed out that Povetkin did not look his best and may have not yet fully recovered from from COVID.In the fight, Whyte clipped Povetkin a lot of times and in the fourth round, he knocked down Povetkin. Unfortunately, Povetkin could not recover well that forced the referee and even his corner to end the fight. Povetkin is already 41 years old and past his prime, and he was losing the first fight until he landed the spectacular upper-cut.

Whyte showed tremendous respect to his opponent by offering his own stool. Both fighters respected each other and showed great sportsmanship. Alexander Povetkin has fought many elite fighters like Anthony Joshua, Wladimir Klitschko and now Dillian Whyte.

As for Whyte, a fight with Deontay Wilder is what the fans want. Whyte has been calling out Wilder for a long time now. With Wilder not being able to get the Fury trilogy yet, he would need a big name to prove that he could still compete with the best. Since Whyte is the WBC Mandatory, it would catch Wilder’s attention as well.
