UNBELIEVABLE! Chuck Liddell on the comeback trail?!?

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell is a legend of mixed martial arts. Back when there were little-to-no rules, ‘The Iceman’ was tearing it up in bareknuckle vale tudo brawls.

After climbing through the rankings in the UFC, Liddell’s record stood at 12-1. Making his title fight debut against Randy Couture, ‘The Iceman’ lost by shock knockout. This was just the beginning of Liddell’s rivalry with ‘The Natural,’ and a taste of what was to come.

Liddell’s Retirement & Recent Comeback Rumours

Fighting for and winning the title at UFC 52, Liddell paid Couture back in kind. Following four more title defenses, Liddell began to lose his stride. Harrowing KO losses to Shogun Rua, Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans marked the inevitable ending being in sight.

When Rich Franklin KO’d Liddell from behind at UFC 115, the time had arrived. Although he didn’t want to, ‘The Iceman’ hung up his gloves. Nearly seven years later and widespread rumours have started about a comeback to the octagon.

Helping stoke these flames was this recent picture Liddell posted on Instagram, looking in GREAT shape:

Liddell Responds…

Speaking with TMZ, Liddell gave these rumours a few ounces of legitimacy:

When asked about a UFC comeback, Liddell says ‘We’ll see,’ … but it’s very clear he’s very strongly thinking about getting back in the Octagon!!

Continue below for Liddell’s rnt about Jon Jones…

That Time Chuck Ripped Jon Jones

During an interview with Inside MMA, as quoted by MMAJunkie.com, ‘The Iceman’ went completely HAM on Jon Jones:

“If he keeps lipping off, maybe,” Liddell told Ranallo. “It’s funny: Somebody asked me a question, ‘Would you beat him in your prime?’ Shoot, of course I’d beat him in my prime. What am I supposed to say? In my prime? I’ll beat you right now. We’ve got a problem? Let’s go. I mean (expletive) … it’s one of those things, I’m not going to get mad at him if says he can beat me in my prime. He should say that. If I’m your coach, you better say that.”

“We were at the UFC, and he came up and he was all hurt,” Liddell said. “And I said, ‘Look, man, if you want to talk trash about me on the Internet, you might want to tag me so I can respond instead of just talking trash behind my back.’ Not that I really care, because it’s the Internet. People trash talk all over the place. But, ‘If you want me to know about it, I don’t follow you, so you’re going to have to send it to me.’

“Then I was like, ‘Dude, you have my phone number. If you ever see me doing an interview and you’re worried about it, call me and we’ll talk it out.’ Trust me: If I have a problem with you, you won’t have to look for me. I will show up.”
