Amanda Nunes was set to defend her belt against Julianna Pena but sadly the fight will be moved to a later date. It was supposedly scheduled to be the co-main event for UFC 265, and it would have featured a two title PPV card, but unfortunately the pandemic cancelled another fight.
Amanda Nunes tested positive for COVID, canceling her fight against Julianna Peña that was scheduled for #UFC265, UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell told @MikeCoppinger.
Campbell said the plan is to reschedule the bout when Nunes is fully healthy and ready to compete. pic.twitter.com/CMrSSJk8Ds

Amanda Nunes’s health is still of top priority, as COVID is no joke. Some fighters take the hit a bit too much that their future performances may be affected. Nunes is also considered by many as the greatest women mixed martial artist of all time mainly because she beat everybody.
As for Julianna Pena, she has been calling out Nunes for quite a while but suffers a setback which doesn’t grant her a title shot. Now, the UFC has granted Pena a massive opportunity, will she be able to pull of the upset? Obviously, Nunes will be expected as a heavy favorite against anyone.
Nunes’s last few performances were so dominant and easy that people are just thinking that at this point she is just having fun and cashing easy paychecks. The only fight that Nunes might have a possible trouble would be a trilogy with Valentina Shevchenko. Yes, Nunes won both but the rematch was controversial.
