Mayra Bueno Silva does not agree with Sean Strickland’s comment that he “was asked to help a couple of ladies to their job” at UFC 297. Despite admitting that her fight with Raquel Pennington for the vacant bantamweight belt might not attract enough audience, Bueno Silva pointed out that Strickland is not also “big” as a star as opposed to his views.

News about Strickland’s criticism of his fellow fighters is not new. The newest victim of the champ is Bueno Silva and Pennington, who will be sharing the main card with him as the co-main event. In his recent post, “Tarzan” shared that he really didn’t plan on fighting this month or in Canada but claimed that he was “asked” to aid the event. The fighter further implied that his title defense against Dricus Du Plessis was meant to promote the event and attract the crowd.

Bueno Silva admitted in the past that her fight with Pennington was not good on paper. The female fighter also added that with “Rocky” being silent and not a fan of trash talk, promoting the fight is indeed a challenge. Yet, “Sheetara” doesn’t think that the Strickland vs. Du Plessis fight is effective enough alone. For Bueno Silva, each other’s bout is helping promote both sides, and Strickland is not even capable of producing good fights.

“Look, on paper, my fight with Raquel is not a good fight,” Bueno Silva told ESPN. “But on paper, Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis is a good fight? No. Sean talks too much. He thinks he is a big star, but he is not a big star. I believe my fight and Sean’s fight, one helps the other.

“On paper, two bad fights for fans. But when we enter the octagon, I do a good fight, and Du Plessis does good fights, too. I don’t watch good fights from Sean Strickland. I don’t remember a good fight.”
