UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor is all over the news right now. Making his mark in sports history in New York, McGregor starched Eddie Alvarez for his second title win.

Stamping his authority in the UFC lightweight division, ‘The Notorious’ is now linked to multiple divisions. Even Tyron Woodley, the welterweight champion now wants a piece. The Irishman’s name has also been linked, yet again, to boxing great Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor vs. Mayweather

After his big win in New York, Conor McGregor received praise from many fellow fighters, but not Floyd Mayweather. When the media started comparing ‘Money’ with the Irish striker, Mayweather became annoyed.

He told the media that McGregor was no comparison to him at all. Mayweather’s comments led to McGregor responding, demanding a huge purse to make a boxing match happen. UFC president Dana White told TMZ that he is not impressed by Floyd Mayweather. Check it out:

Dana Defends McGregor

“Conor McGregor, if he touches you, you go to sleep. Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands. You know how Floyd knocks people out? When they’re not looking. Watch the Victor Ortiz fight. Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He’s special. Floyd’s never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does.”

OWNED!

For a long time earlier this year, McGregor and Mayweather were linked to a heavily rumoured boxing match. Obviously this never came to be, but for some reason they are continually linked.

Similarities

Maybe it’s wins in multiple weight divisions, the brash attitude or crazy skill-For some reason Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are constantly beefing, as well as eerily similar.

Although they’ll probably never fight, it’s fun watching them get annoyed when talking about each other, at the least.
