Jon Jones has found himself at another crossroads in MMA…

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones landed himself in the hot seat again last week. Right in the middle of Mayweather vs. McGregor fight week, it was revealed Jones had failed yet another dope screen.

Jones reportedly failed for anabolic steroid turinabol, later confirmed by USADA and Jones’ management. Team Jones also released a generic statement claiming it was a ‘tainted supplement that caused the pop.

Until now we’ve heard nothing from Jones himself. This would be Jones’ third failed drug test during his career, having popped for cocaine and estrogen blockers in the past.

Will Jon Jones be stripped of his title again?

Jon Jones Speaks But Didn’t Say Much

Facing a potential four-year ban if his appeal fails, ‘Bones’ could have essentially flushed his career down the toilet. The promotion would have no choice but to strip Jones of the belt he only just won at UFC 214.

Taking to social media, Jones had the following to say:

Jon’s manager was nowhere near as constructive or positive during his post on Facebook:

“The amount of hate that everyone has towards jon jones with out any due process is beyond me. The messages I keep getting saying to “drop him” or “don’t take up for him” goes to show me how low this society is.
I stand with bones!
For anyone to think I would “drop” him like Him and I aren’t brothers is stupid.
I know how hard he worked to get back to where he’s at. This is definitely heartbreaking. He def didn’t cheat or use steroids. But I’m with him more now than the night he won the belt…. being there for the good times is what everybody would do. But who’s really there when times get bad?
I hope that you people pick your friends, wives/husbands and close confidants based on real stuff. Not who can celebrate when you’re on top. I’m not sure why this is happening to him again, or how even, but We’ll get to the bottom of it.
To those of you that truly support my brother and I, thank you! To those of you who say “drop him” you’re not doing me any favors by saying that. You’re not my friend nor my family. So a big “fuck you” to you and your “support””

“He Was Set Up”

Former TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) contestant and team mate of Jones says ‘straight up, this is a set up,’ as per LowKickMMA.com:

“I was just at dinner sitting next to Jon Jones when he got the phone call about this failed drug test,” Lester wrote. “Supposedly the story is between weigh ins and fight night he took a oral steroid. Which makes zero sense since it wouldn’t do anything at all for Jon to do so. It takes weeks for steroids to build up in your system to be a performance enhancer. Jon was devastated to say the least.

“This is a set up, straight up, no athlete would test clean his entire fight camp, and then randomly take some cheap f—king oral steroid betweens weigh ins and fight night knowing he would be tested once he got done fighting. This is a straight set up. They are trying to ruin this kids life. It makes no sense and Jon wouldn’t do it.”

  1. Anyone can see this was a setup. The money people, like Dana White, don’t like Jon Jones and are trying to stop him.
