Jon Jones and Colby Covington are known as long-time rivals. With this, the heavyweight champ celebrated the victory of Leon Edwards last weekend, offering the Briton “a motorcycle or something for Christmas.”

Edwards successfully defended his belt against Covington at UFC 296 last Saturday. Although the bout was criticized for missing some sizzling actions, some individuals still felt satisfied with the result. That includes Jones, who is known to exchange insults with Covington openly on social media. The champ even recently shared his opinion about the trash talk of “Chaos” to Edwards’ murdered father, saying, “Colby is by far the most heinous human being I’ve ever encountered in my life.”

With all this, it is no surprise that Jones is one of the people cheering Edwards for his latest win. In his recent post on X, the legend initially offered a motorcycle but said that he would be willing to give “whatever” the fellow champ wants.

“Leon Edwards, I couldn’t be more happy for you,” Jones wrote. “As an American champion in this game, I salute you, that was truly a job well done. Let me know if I can gift you a motorcycle or something for Christmas. Feel like I owe you one.”

Unfortunately, others feel unsatisfied with how Edwards handled the fight. Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev recently called the bout “bullsh*t,” while backup fighter Belal Muhammad said the fight was “a joke to the division.” Daniel Cormier also expressed disappointment, saying many were expecting a lot from the two due to the grudge between them.

“If I’m being completely honest, while it was a completely dominant performance by the champion, I feel like it left me wanting a little more,” Cormier said on his YouTube channel. “Because generally, when we have these grudge-match type of fights, we have really fun, exciting, all-action fights, and then we have a little bit of stuff afterwards.”
