Top ranked UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz is known for the way he talks trash to his opponents both inside and outside the cage. Never one to shy away from a good verbal beatdown, Diaz recently put former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and current champion Tyron Woodley on blast for negotiating a fight by being friendly with each other.

St-Pierre retired in 2013 after narrowly beating then-top contender Johny Hendricks by controversial split decision. He has since been away from MMA, instead focusing on his acting career. But rumors of a return to the Octagon have heated up recently, with a screenshot of a text conversation between he and Tyron Woodley has further solidified the rumors.

Woodley took to Twitter a few days ago, posting the said screenshot.

In the conversation, Woodley appeals to GSP to come out of retirement and make a fight between himself and the former UFC 170-lb. champ. “The Chosen One” won the title last month, with a shocking first round KO of Robbie Lawler.

Woodley isn’t wrong about it being a big fight though. GSP coming out of retirement to go straight into a title shot against the reigning champion is compelling drama, regardless if the two are buddy-buddy.

Diaz was quoted in the first installment of the UFC 202 Embedded series saying, “I seen Woodley and GSP shaking hands and text messaging ‘let’s make a fight’. That’s boring.

“You just killed the whole thing for our sake. Don’t no one want to see no fight that friends set up. (Expletive) that,” said Diaz.

Diaz is certainly right about creating hype for a fight by drumming up drama. That’s exactly how he got the Conor McGregor fight in the first place, by calling out the UFC featherweight champion complete with the usual expletives.

In true Stockton bad boy fashion, Diaz then went on to throw out a crazy challenge to both GSP and Woodley.

“How about me and my guys versus you and your guys? Now that’s entertainment. Let’s see that. That’s good TV and that’s real (expletive),” Diaz said.
