Interim Bantamweight Champ Patchy Mix (18-1 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) says he is confident with himself ahead of his upcoming fight against Sergio Pettis (23-5 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) at Bellator 301. In his recent statement for the event’s pre-fight media day, “No Love” shared his mindset and how it is helping him to focus on the fight.

Mix will be coming from his victory over Raufeon Stots via KO at Bellator 295 in April. The fighter has an impressive record under Bellator, sporting a current five-fight winning streak. Despite that, Mix views his victories as part of the past, saying in order to prepare for a new fight, he’s rebooting himself.

“After the past three performances, I go back and always evolve and add new things to my game,” Mix said at Bellator 301 pre-fight media day. “I’m more confident now than ever. Ever since I knocked out Stots, I’ve been in the gym training nonstop. … This is a big name and a big opportunity, so I’m only thinking about this fight. As far as I’m concerned, I’m 0-0. After Friday, I’ll be 1-0.”

In spite of this, it can’t be denied that Mix could be a dangerous opponent for the Bellator Bantamweight Champion Sergio Pettis. Despite his status and current winning streak, Mix boasts a KO win over Stots and three submissions in five of his recent victories… and overflowing confidence that he will win the bantamweight title unification bout this Friday.
