4. GSP Cuts the Line at Middleweight
Georges St. Pierre is one of the greatest fighters of all-time. In fact, GSP does have a chance to put himself back in the conversation of greatest of all-time, provided he is successful in his comeback attempt. With that being said, he still cut in-front of many worthy contenders at middleweight.
Had GSP returned to face Tyron Woodley for the belt he never lost (technically), that would be one thing. Naturally, a former champion who never lost the belt can cut in line to get a crack at their old title, but moving to a new division and doing that? Something about that isn’t sitting right with many.
Jacare Souza thought he had earned a title shot once, now after his loss to Robert Whittaker, who knows how far away he is from getting one? Yoel Romero is over 40 years old, is he going to sit out for the rest of 2017 waiting for a title shot?
