1. Michael “Venom” Page vs. Conor McGregor
Forget Michael Bisping, the best fighter out of England is Michael “Venom” Page. The undefeated 29 year old, who fights out of London, made an impact literally and figuratively when he crushed in Evangelista Santos’ skull at Bellator 158 in July. He’s now 7W-0L in the promotion, and 11W-0L for his career.
A welterweight, Page would have quite the size advantage on Conor, but Conor would be a step up in competition for Page. As much as Page has impressed, his fight with Santos was his first against proven and experienced competition.
Santos’ injury at Bellator 158 was described by doctors as nearly having been fatal, which would have been the first death to occur on a show run by a major promotion. That has to be considered intimidating for any opponent, even Conor McGregor.
