With the UFC 296 just hours away, UFC held its weigh-in event. Fortunately, all the 24 fighters joining this Saturday’s event made the weight, although Irene Aldana had to box to meet the bantamweight limit.

All the UFC 296 fighters attended the weigh-in event, including welterweight champion Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, who both seamlessly hit the marks. Flyweight king Alexandre Pantoja and title challenger Brandon Royval also made the weight. All in all, every fighter passed the weigh-ins, but female fighter Aldana had to shed a small amount of weight to pass the bantamweight requirement.

As the promotion confirmed, Brown and Garry had to back out due to their respective illnesses, with the latter confirming having pneumonia.

With the removal of these fights, the UFC made adjustments to the lineup, moving Josh Emmett vs. Bryce Mitchell to the event’s main card and Dustin Jacoby vs. Alonzo Menifield to the preliminary card.
