UFC confirmed that Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera will be the headline of the UFC 299 event, which will be held in Miami on March 9. This will be a rematch between the two, giving the current bantamweight champ a chance to redeem himself from the only loss in his career.

This Friday, the promotion confirmed the matter during its 2024 seasonal press conference, saying UFC 299 will be held at Kaseya Center in Miami. The fight will be interesting as it will be the first title defense “Sugar” is making for his bantamweight belt, which he snatched from Aljamain Sterling via KO in August at UFC 292. Aside from that, this will be a rematch, where O’Malley can avenge his defeat to Vera, who delivered a TKO win in their first bout at UFC 252 in August 2020.

Aside from the said event, the promotion also confirmed that the UFC 300 will be on April 13 in Las Vegas. No bouts were announced by UFC CEO Dana White, but said that Jim Miller would participate in the event.

With the announcement made, here is the current lineup of the UFC 299 next year:

  • Bantamweight Title: Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera
  • Maycee Barber vs. Katlyn Chookagian
  • Jailton Almeida vs. Curtis Blaydes
  • Rafael dos Anjos vs. Mateusz Gamrot
