Brian Keck

Former MMA fighter and coach Brian Keck was found dead on November 25th at 48-years-of-age.

At this stage the cause of his passing has not been revealed, though it is known that he had gone missing in Mexico for several days after reportedly attending a football game in Tijuana.

Keck was a talented amateur wrestler in his day who competed in the trials for the U.S. Olympic team.

Meanwhile, he had just one fight in MMA dating all the way back to 1997 in the first ever edition of Brazil’s infamous International Vale Tudo Championships, where he’d lose in the opening round to eventual finalist Pedro Otavio, among a cast of fighters that also included the likes of Gary Goodridge, Dan Severn and Cal Worsham.

In more recent times Keck was the wrestling coach at the Xtreme Couture gym and had also trained fighters at Alliance MMA, with former UFC champion Dominick Cruz being one of the first to pay his respects after hearing the news of his passing.
