Rachael Ostovich
The latest fighter to have suffered at the hands of domestic abuse is the UFC’s Rachael Ostovich, who had to be taken to the hospital afer sustaining serious injuries due to an alleged attack by her husband, Arnold Berdon in the early hours of Sunday morning on November 18th.
Ostovich detailed in a police report how Berdon beat her after a family night out, punching her repeatedly in the head, face and ribs, causing her to fall to the floor.
Ostovich managed to escape through a balcony, but found herself gasping for breath, coughing up blood and throwing up, while she would later be diagnosed with a broken orbital bone.
Berdon was arrested on Tuesday of this week by Honoulu police for 2nd degree attempted murder – a charge that carries a maxiumum sentence of life imprisonment, though as yet he has not been formally charged.
