Andrea Lee

Everything seemed to be falling into place for Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee when she joined the UFC in 2018, but behind the scenes her life was in turmoil.

It began with negative publicity back in June when it emerged her husband and coach, 43-year-old Donny Aaron had served time for negligent homicide and had swastika and other Nazi-related tattoos on his body.

At the time Lee defended her husband, insisting that he was a reformed character, but only two months later fellow fighter Andy Nyugen released disturbing details about Lee having suffered domestic abuse at the hands of her spouse.

According to Nyugen, who was staying with the couple at the time, Aaron had been drinking heavily for two days when he began shouting at Lee at their home following UFC 227 on August 4th and then chased her into a bedroom and attempted to burn a cigarette on her body.

Nyugen called Aaron’s parents and they came over to help calm the situation down, but in the early hours of the morning things escalated again and at 5.30am he heard Lee shouting “stop, stop.” As he opened the kitchen door he then saw Lee buttoning up her shorts and running out of the house in terror, with Aaron chasing after her.

Lee had strangle marks on her neck after the incident and Aaron went on the run as police issued a warrant for his arrest and charged him with one count of domestic battery and one of false imprisonment.
