Nick Ring
Driving home one day in Calgary back in 2012, Nick Ring spotted a group of as many as 10 teenagers beating up and robbing a young couple who were waiting at a bus stop.
Ring, who was fighting for the UFC at the time, pulled his car over as the gang ran off with one of the victim’s backpacks and checked on the couple to make sure they were ok.
He then got back into his car and hunted down the suspects, before getting out and chasing them on foot – eventually managing to capture one of them with the help of another bystander and then calling the police.
That led to three of the gang, a 17, 16 and 15-year-old being arrested and charged with common assault.
“I saw these little punk cowards picking on defenseless people and I knew they needed to come to justice,” Ring told Cagewriter afterwards.
