Rocky Stenning
UK fighter Rocky Stenning committed suicide on July 13th while in prison serving a 13-year sentence.
Stenning held a 2-0 amateur MMA record, but had gone on to lose his first two professional fights in 2017.
However, earlier this year Stenning’s life took a sinister turn when he stood trial accused of a brutal knife attack, leading to him being found guilty of wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.
He was sentenced to 13 years behind bars just 3 days before he was discovered hanging in his cell at Chelmsford Prison.
His close friend and training partner Danny Hodgson later told Essex Live that The Martial Academy, where he was a member of ‘Team Asylum,’ had been the troubled Stenning’s “little safe haven.”
