Fans of UFC star Nate Diaz might not be too pleased with Dana White’s latest statement. The UFC president has gone on record in another somewhat negative interview about the younger Diaz brother…
After all is said and done, there’s no denying the star power of Nate Diaz. Although his employers might not feel the same, Nate is easily as popular as his older brother Nick. Sadly, he fails to get recognition from the promotion he’s bled for.
Diaz is by no means alone in his plight to get better pay and merit from the world’s largest MMA promotion. The organization has a long history of allegedly questionable treatment of their employees.
They say sticks and stones break bones but words can never hurt, but in the world where an image is everything and the media is key, words are more harmful than we know. Enter UFC president Dana White.
Dana White’s Comments
White has a fairly substantial track record of slating his fighters, he is quite the promoter but also can do the opposite when teased. In terms of Nate Diaz, White has shot down the prospect of one of the most popular fighters returning, again.
As per MMAWeekly:
“We’ve been offering [Nate Diaz] fights. Guys don’t just come out and say ‘I want fights’ and then we don’t react on it,” White told TMZ. “We’ve been hitting him up since the last time he fought, offering him fights and he’s not interested in fighting. I don’t know why he’s saying it.”

“I don’t even know what fight he wants,” White said. “Obviously, if Conor [McGregor] was available, he’d take that fight. It’s a big money fight for sure.”
In case you were thinking we went a little overboard in saying White is often harsh towards the men and women he is meant to promote, check out this gem:
“Nate Diaz is not a needle mover,” UFC President Dana White told reporters in Dublin on Friday when asked if Zuffa CEO Lorenzo Fertitta has attempted to mend fences between the two sides.”
“I love Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz is actually one of my favorite kids. I always got along with Nate, Nate was always great. Lowest rated FOX show ever. Lowest rated FOX show ever. His numbers, he doesn’t pull the numbers in. Nick (Diaz) is a needle mover. Nick moves the needle. [Nate] doesn’t pull good numbers.”

“Listen, if Nate Diaz was the guy, we’d work it out in a minute. If you move the needle, those are the guys that make the big money. You realize he’s like 1-3 in his last three fights? He’s 1-3, he’s nowhere near a title fight, he’s never won a title, and he doesn’t move the needle.”
Again, if you think we are being too hard on him, this is the same Dana White that basically wanted to marry (sic) Francis Ngannou in the pre-fight hype before he lost to Stipe Miocic.
