It Surely Won’t Be Long Before Ciryl Gane is Lighting Up the UFC… The Rising Heavyweight Star is Making a Name for Himself and Looks Absolutely Terrifying After Another TKO Win…
Historically, the heavyweight division is the thinnest in MMA. While it’s definitely the most beloved in boxing, it hasn’t quite reached those heights in MMA. Sure, there have been legends like Mirko Cro Cop, Cain Velasquez, Antonio Nogueira, Stipe Miocic, and Daniel Cormier, but there’s never been any depth to the division.
Enter Cyril Gane. The French fighter is a product of the MMA Factory in Paris. If you know that name, it’s probably because of another heavyweight fighter called Francis Ngannou. Oh yeah, that guy. Gane is carved from the same mold and was a regular sparring partner for ‘The Predator, and counts Fernand Lopez as his head coach.
He’s a fearsome knockout artist and a prime athletic specimen. Take a look at the footage below. The TKO Heavyweight champion, he looks absolutely terrifying…

Terrifying
Gane is an absolute monster. He’s truly massive: tall and with a muscular frame to match. He was defending his title against fellow knockout artist Adan Dyczka at TKO 44. Dyczka clearly isn’t blessed with the same athletic physique as his French opponent but was unbeaten in 8 previous professional fights.
However, he didn’t count on just how good Gane is. It all started with a frankly ludicrous back-fist double punch combination which stunned the Canadian fighter. Then Gane picked him apart, landing shots at will. He split the guard with knees and uppercuts until finally, a vicious left hook floored his opponent. A bit of ground and pound and the referee finally intervened and put Dyczka out of his misery.

Specimen
You know sometimes you just spot a fighter who you know has the potential to be special? Gane has definitely got that stardust. He is also fighting in the right place. TKO is available to view on UFC Fight Pass so you can guarantee the UFC scouts are watching his every move. This guy is the real deal. There are levels to this sport and unbeaten records mean nothing when you fight someone naturally more talented than you. Poor Dyczka found out the hard way.
One of Gane’s most impressive attributes is just how dynamic he is. His movement, speed, and shot selection are pretty spectacular for such a big man. His former teammate Ngannou’s biggest flaw is his lack of a gas tank. Gane looks like he’s able to conserve his energy and pick his targets much cleaner than the Cameroonian – albeit against the more limited opposition.

Prospect
He’s definitely an exciting prospect. With the likes of Greg Hardy coming closer to the UFC and younger fighters like Curtis Blaydes, Tai Tuivasa rising through the division, it’s becoming a more exciting time for the division. You could almost say it’s like the turning of a new page as the likes of Mark Hunt, Derrick lewis and Daniel Cormier near the ends of their careers.
Fans definitely won’t be complaining! More heavyweights mean more knockouts and that’s what we pay to watch!
