Amanda Nunes looks like she is just collecting paychecks at this point. After her strong showing against Anderson, the question has got to be asked. What is next for Amanda Nunes? There is no more threat for Nunes at this point, she has beaten every top contender there is.

Nunes is considered by many as the greatest female fighter of all-time. No other female fighter has a better claim to it since she has beaten all the former champions, there is.

In the fight, Nunes was just throwing bombs. Almost all of them landed, and once Anderson got a taste of Nunes’s power, it was the beginning of the end for her. Most of her opponents would describe her power like a truck. Once Nunes got Anderson to the ground, she showcased her high level BJJ that ended the night quickly.

One thing that many overlooked is how she beats the former champions. The way the former champions win fights is how she beat them. Tate won the belt by choking out Holm, then for the next fight Nunes won the fight by choking out Tate. Holly Holm’s signature move which was the head kick, Nunes used it against her that led to a knockout win.

Some would argue that due to the lack of contenders in the featherweight, considering that Nunes dominated them all, the UFC might close the women’s featherweight division. Before, it was created to give way for Cris Cybrog. But then Nunes took the featherweight crown, and no one has beaten her ever since.

What made it even more impressive is that when Nunes entered the game, she was not even a talented prospect. She had a lot of flaws and suffered a few losses but once she got to the top, nobody could beat her. The only one that was close was Valentina Shevchenko.

Even the commentators on UFC 259 think that Shevchenko is the only fighter that could potentially dethrone her. Yes, Nunes already beat her twice but the second fight was a little bit controversial. Half of the audience thought Nunes won and half thought Shevchenko won the fight.

As of the moment, Shevchenko is scheduled to face Jessica Andrade at UFC 261. If she somehow beats Andrade easily, the UFC could potentially book Nunes-Shevchenko trilogy. Similar to Nunes, Shevchenko also lacks the top contenders that could pose a challenge.
