Andy Ruiz’s comeback fight DID NOT live up to its HYPE but still got the WIN

A lot eyes were eager to watch the former heavyweight champion, Andy Ruiz make a huge statement against Chris Arreola. Well it was not an easy fight for Ruiz as he suffered a huge adversity in the early parts of the fight.

In the second round, Ruiz suffered a minor knockdown. Many fans were on the edge of their seatsĀ  as many thought it would just be a tune up fight, but Arreola came to fight that night. Although in the later rounds, it was mostly Ruiz that cruised to a unanimous decision win. Many thought that Ruiz was gonna cruise to a dominating win since he was fighting a 40 year old boxer that has not fought for 2 years. You could say that Ruiz was not inside the ring for quite a while but many still thought he would win easily considering he was the guy that gave Joshua his first loss and also switched under Eddie Reynoso, motivated more than ever

A lot of fans were discontented with the scorecards, saying that even though it was agreeable that Ruiz won the fight, the scores announced were a bit far fetched than what the fans saw. Even Arreola was disappointed on how the judges scored almost all the rounds to Ruiz.

When Ruiz was interviewed, he also agrees that he did not perform as well as he expected and it was probably due to ring rust. He was also overconfident on taking out Arreola early but then readjusted in the later rounds that won him the fight. He is open to a rematch with Arreola as well.
