UFC President Dana White has Released an Update About Conor McGregor and What Happens Next…
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll know that Conor McGregor got arrested for attacking a bus with a dolly. It was ludicrous and he ended up in jail for the night. The Irishman is due back in court on June 14, to face the judge’s wrath. Or get released immediately because he’s rich.
One of the biggest mysteries about this whole scenario is what will happen to McGregor. He could face more than ten years in prison because he’s been hit with three charges of assault and one of criminal mischief. There’s also the possibility that he could be deported which would make it almost impossible to get a visa to work in the US in future.
The UFC has yet to react in any way towards the Irishman. Dana White initially called it the “most disgusting” thing that’s ever happened in the organization but has since backtracked to say that these things happen. He’s finally given an update on the situation.

Sanctions
For his part, White doesn’t seem that enthusiastic about punishing McGregor. Despite causing three fights to fall apart at UFC 223, injuring two contracted fighters and damaging private property, the UFC president doesn’t seem too fazed. He told TMZ:
“We’ll see. Well he’s gotta be punished by the law first. Let’s see what happens in New York,” he said. “He’s got to go through that first.”
Let’s be very clear about what is happening here. The UFC is playing a very cynical but clever game. If McGregor is cleared, then they still have their biggest cash cow. If he is convicted they can cut their losses.

Conor vs Khabib
White didn’t do anything to defuse speculation about lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagamedov facing off against Conor McGregor in a mega fight. It’s honestly difficult to think of a potential match-up that has been this hyped by fans since Mayweather vs Pacquaio. However, it won’t take place in Russia.
“If you do a fight that big, you’ve got do it in Vegas,” he said. “Khabib will fight in Russia at some point, but it wont be that fight. It’s too big. You’ve got to do it in Vegas.”
With a whole host of Russian and Eastern European fighters coming through, like Zabit Magomedsharipov and Islam Makhachev, the UFC has reason to want a Russian card soon. However, if the ‘Notorious’ does face Nurmagamedov, they’ll play it safe.
Good Reason
It makes sense because to make Khabib into a bigger star he needs to break America. The best way to break America? Break Conor McGregor in Las Vegas. With an unbeaten record of 26-0, you would be brave to bet against him.
If this fight does happen it will be a Clash of the Titans. The UFC might want to bring in extra security, with two of the most fanatical fan bases in the organization behind these men. It has the potential to be the biggest UFC fight of all time.
