Bryce Mitchell has saved the day for Josh Emmett after replacing an injured Giga Chikadze in their UFC 296 bout.

The news about Chikadze’s withdrawal was confirmed this week, with the fighter sharing that he tore his groin during the training. With this, Emmett quickly challenged fellow division fighters as the question of whether the fighter would still be pushed echoed everywhere. Thankfully, the UFC confirmed that it found a replacement in Mitchell.

Emmett will try to redeem himself from his recent loss to Ilia Topuria via a unanimous decision in June. Mitchell was also defeated by “El Matador in December 2022 but made a successful return after winning over Dan Ige via unanimous decision just this last September.

The two will enter the cage at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 16 alongside the following fighters in their respective bouts:
