Ciryl Gane remains undefeated after defeating Rozenstruik in a one side decision. The fight may have lacked the action that led to White not impressed with Gane’s peformance. Though it was not all his fault as they say “it takes two to tango”.

Gane had a lot of hype around him being undefeated and how fast he moves for a heavyweight. Most would describe him as a heavyweight that moves like a middleweight, just bouncing on the ring. He is also fundamentally sounded.

Unfortunately, the UFC boss was not impressed because the hype may have slow down. Dana White told Kevin Iole

“Everybody’s talking about Ciryl being this big contender, but look at what Francis Ngannou did to Jairzinho,”

For him to compare Ngannou to Gane is a bit unfair. Yes, Ngannou put Rozenstruik to sleep in the opening bell but frankly it was not a smart gameplan. Ngannou can just get away with it because he has freakish power and a chin that can endure counter strikes.

Gane’s style of fighting is more technical where he uses feints and counter striking to finish the fight. Not everyone hits hard like Ngannou, and Gane’s style is picking his shots and not risking too much.

Although Gane’s stocks may have lowered after his performance, he should not be discouraged. He got the job done and won the fight, and that’s all that matter at the end of day.

If we look at Adesanaya’s fight against Romero many criticized him as well for a boring fight. He said that the takes two to tango , if both are just too cautious it will make the fight less pleasing for the fans watching. Look what happened on his next fight against Costa, he demolished him with a flawless victory. Gane should just focus on getting better.

Jon Jones who is about to make his heavyweight debut also reacted with the main-event.

He is certainly throwing shade at the contenders which is fun to watch as fan. It creates drama and Jones is also likely fighting the winner of Miocic vs Ngannou 2 as per Dana White.
