Amanda Nunes is the undisputed GOAT in the women’s division. In her rise, she was not as dominant as Ronda Rousey or Holy Holm. She was not multiple division boxing and kickboxing champion like Holm or Judo Olympian like Rousey.

When she rose to the UFC, she was not even a complete fighter. She was a great striker but gasses out in the later rounds as her fight against Cat Zingano. She came a long way from being just a contender to becoming a women’s GOAT.

People talk about Jon Jones, GSP, Anderson Silva, Demetrious Johnson and much more as the GOAT of MMA but in the women’s MMA, no one has better claim than Nunes that is just how good her resume is compared to the second best

She may have a lot of wins in her record but we will discuss the best names she beat that cemented her as the greatest female fighter.

Valentina Shevchenko
Probably the most difficult opponent Nunes has faced but she did beat her twice. Shevchenko is the current flyweight champion and like Nunes has a difficult time finding an opponent that can give challenges to their game. Both of these women’s level are just far from the second best fighter in their respective division.

Shevchenko only has two UFC losses both were against Nunes but the second one was controversial. Many thought Shevchenko won the fight, but the judges thought of it the other way. A trilogy fight of Champ vs Champ would make sense in the near future since both are running out of competition in their division.

Miesha Tate
The fight that made Nunes the undisputed champion, her first title shot and she passed with flying colors. Tate just had no answer to Nunes’s barrage of boxing. In just one round, Tate’s face was brutally battered, that she no choice but to cover up. The fight ended via rear naked choke in the first round.

Ronda Rousey
Who could forget one the UFC’s biggest star? Rousey put the modern women’s MMA on radar. She just had that IT factor, and felt the level of invincibility during her reign. Even Joe Rogan was in awe of Rousey’s presence that she is a once in a lifetime talent. Unfortunately, Holm went in and destroyed Rousey.

Rousey deserved a rematch since she had a long reign. Although she needed time to recover and regroup, Holm lost the belt to Tate, which later led to Nunes as the champion. In the fight, Rousey had no according to her coach “head movement” making Nunes target her head easily. The fight was stopped early since Rousey had no answer to the viscous strikes.

Holly Holm
Although she was not in her prime, Holm was still a big name since she was a former champion. Holm already had many losses when she faced Nunes but the fight still happened.

Holly Holm was known for his upset head-kick win against Rousey. So what better way for Nunes to finish Holm via head-kick as well. Just shows how great Nunes is, using her opponent’s signature move against her.

Germaine de Randamie
Even Nunes feared Germaine’s striking, that is just how good the skills of Germaine was. Luckily, Nunes has a great grappling, just shows how well rounded Nunes in the MMA game. Nunes chose to grapple with Germaine and dominated most of the fight that led the fight to a unanimous decision win.

Cris Cyborg
The very fight that had the most jaw-dropping moment. If you watched this fight live, you might have possibly seen the highest moment in MMA. Prior to the fight, Cyborg was the most feared fighter in MMA.

Heck even when Germaine was the champion, she ducked Cyborg. That is just how scary fight Cyborg is. Coming to fight, Nunes was a heavy underdog but what happened? Nunes finished Cyborg in the very first round. Nunes became a double champ and cementing herself as the MMA GOAT. The greatest win of her career by far.
