No one is more thrilled than Michael Chandler to face Conor McGregor in the octagon in June. Days after the Irish superstar announced the details of their fight, Chandler shared being in camp, suggesting the start of his official preparation for the match.

Chandler has been on break for over a year after losing to Dustin Poirier in November 2022. The rest, nonetheless, is also the fighter’s choice in order to welcome McGregor back into the cage, albeit the American repeatedly questioned if the fight would really happen. Thankfully, McGregor ended the doubts before New Year, announcing his return in June.

The announcement followed UFC CEO Dana White’s revelation that the promotion was in talks with McGregor to “get something figured out soon.” The company still hasn’t confirmed what McGregor shared, but Chandler is now gearing up for the fight.

In his recent posts on his social media accounts, “Iron” shared to followers entering camp, expressing his enthusiasm in preparing for the fight against “The Notorious.”

Despite being unconfirmed, Chandler has every right to feel ecstatic about the news. To recall, there were reports about the possibility of McGregor taking other names instead of him, which McGregor’s manager affirmed in past interviews. The Irish also suggested another name for Chandler to face instead of him, adding to the doubts about McGregor’s return. As such, with the details now announced by McGregor himself, it is no surprise that Chandler is now in camp to train for the fight that will also mark his octagon return.
