Although fighting in different weight classes a world apart, Colby Covington and Fabricio Werdum have a fierce rivalry. Needless to say, Covington was quite happy to see Werdum get brutally KO’d in London last night…
UFC London saw a host of somewhat underwhelming quite often the case with English capital. As is quite often the case with foreign UFC cards, the promotion didn’t pull out their biggest stars.
Nonetheless, it was a solid event, with the main event between Alexander Volkov and Fabricio Werdum garnering the most interest. Former heavyweight champion and world beater ‘Vai Cavalo’ has literally dominated the best fighters on the planet.
Wins over Fedor Emelianenko, Big Nog, Cain Velasquez and more saw Werdum favored in this fight with the less experienced Volkov. It has been some time though since Werdum beat one of the heavyweight elite.
Perhaps it’s his age at 40 starting to show, or maybe Volkov was just the better man, but this was the result:

There was an element of surprise to Volkov KO’ing Werdum in such a way, especially as Werdum had the fight exactly where he wanted for the first two rounds. Of course, Colby Covington had to get his licks in.
The female version of Angela Magana who CALLED THE POLICE when Werdum hit him with a boomerang in Australia, you couldn’t make this stuff up, had a brutal reaction to the UFC London Main Event:

The rest of the card was certainly solid, but nothing to call home about:
