The Most Controversial MMA Fighter in the World – Outside of Prison – is Set to Transition to Bare-Knuckle Boxing… Alexander Emelianenko Has Accepted a Contract Offer From BKFC…

Alexander Emelianenko is not a very nice guy. The younger brother of Fedor is a solid heavyweight in his own right and was basically a gatekeeper to the big guns when PRIDE was in existence. Now he’s back in his native Russia being an all-round madman.

‘The Grim Reaper’ is most notorious for the rape and illegal imprisonment of his housekeeper. He was jailed for that, although he was ludicrously released very early. Since coming out of prison he’s been in and out of trouble with the law, drinking in public and being involved in a hit-and-run.

Now it looks like he could be returning to action, with news reports revealing that he’s set to enter the world of bare-knuckle boxing. Just what you want to hear.

Official

Bare Knuckle FC is the highest-profile bare-knuckle boxing organization on the planet today. Recently it soared to new heights when they had a match-up between former UFC fighter Artem Lobov and former boxing welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi. Lobov is being heavily linked with a move to BRAVE, an Asian MMA promotion, so BKFC is in need of a new star.

Now it has emerged that Gagarin Management group, the group responsible for Lobov’s multi-fight BKB deal, have confirmed official talks between Emelianenko’s camp, with the expectation being that he will sign on in the coming days.

Legal Status

Emelianenko has fought since his release from prison, mostly for the likes of Akhmat Fight Club, ran by the Chechnyan dictator Ramzan Kadyrov. His legal status makes it very difficult to get a visa to the US, so we’ve no idea what BKFC are planning. Possibly an event in Russia?

The other thing is that he had issues with a blood disease in the past. He was meant to sign for KSW in Poland, but they rejected him stating that he had a strain of hepatitis. It’s unclear exactly what he has but there’s definitely something.

Never Changes

Bellator’s Sergei Kharitonov recently went on a rant about how dangerous the younger Emelianenko is to society. He spoke from his training camp in Thailand about how his fellow Russian will never change his ways and remains a threat to ordinary citizens. He said on Instagram after Emelianenko’s recent drink driving incident:

“Hello everybody. Today I was awoken by a bunch of phone calls from reporters. I hear that Alexander Emelianenko again is in some kind of sh*t. This time in a car crash or something of that sort. This guy, I have said before many times and will say again – is a danger to society. He will drink, rape and kill, do whatever he pleases.

“This guy, I said even back the, someone against me put together an interview. This guy is like…a danger to society. He’s a danger to society. Even now. He will never change. It’s impossible to change him. A leopard never changes its spots. He did jail time, since then he’s done more jail time. Now he’s out. This guy probably was just born that way. You will never change him. He can go off the radar for some time. But sooner or later he will again fall off the wagon and that’s it.”
