UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor throws the whole MMA vs. Boxing idea out the window, he wants a fight against Floyd Mayweather with no rules…
It’s commonly known that Conor McGregor likes to talk. It’s a massive part of not only his persona, but also how he gets inside his opponents heads before fights. With Jose Aldo and all before him in the UFC, it has worked reasonably well.
One fellow fighter that the conversation always seems to turn to is not even in the world of mixed martial arts. Yes, Floyd Mayweather is once again the subject of Conor McGregor’s barbs in his most recent interview.
As if his UFC 196 title shot against Rafael dos Anjos wasn’t enough to focus on, McGregor has once again turned the tables on his old rival ‘Money.’ The now retired boxing great and ‘The Notorious’ have been going back and forth in the press, with slavery and racism even becoming part of the subject.
McGregor issued a bold statement yesterday though, check out his words:
“You know, who knows what the future holds. Who knows what the future holds. I’m open to discussion, always. People always say, well Floyd would win in a boxing fight, well the MMA guy would win in an MMA fight. Let’s take out the sports. Let’s forget rules. Who wins if we just fight? Me, that’s it. So I don’t care when or what, I’ll go into that game no problem.”
