Undefeated heavyweight Ciryl Gane is one of the most skilled heavyweights right now. His striking is one of the most polished in the divsion and he also moves like a middleweight. No other fighter in the heavyweight division has the footwork that Gane possesses.
Prior to making his MMA debut, Gane already had competed in Muay Thai. He ended his Muay Thai record with 13-0 undefeated record. Gane is just that good, and how he is still undefeated in his MMA career.
What is crazy is that Gane has only 9 fights in his MMA record but he has already fought the top contenders in the division. He has beaten guys like Junior Dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov respectively.
What makes Gane interesting is that he doesn’t have the knockout power that could sleep his opponents which is a must in a heavyweight fighter. Gane is more on the technical side of fighting where he could knock you out with an accurate shot or outclass you in a dominant decision win. Gane also has submission wins in his UFC run.
Will Gane be able to outclass Gane or will Lewis be able to land that bomb that knocks anyone out. It is an interesting matchup of technique versus power but it also gives the question whether they can evade or land the strikes they want.
In terms of skill, Gane is the superior fighter but Lewis has also fought technical guys but always ended up getting his hand raised. Gane is going in the favorite but as they say heavyweights need only one shot to end the fight. They are expected to headline UFC 265 for the interim heavyweight champion.
