A lot of people are speculating whether it will be Manny Pacquiao’s last career fight. He has had one of the greatest boxing careers of all time, the only boxer to win belts across 8 divisions. We might not see another fighter break the 8 division record, or even get close to it. There are even rumors that he might run for president this coming election in his home country.
Manny Pacquiao fought for survival, he came from the poorest of the poor in the Philippines that had he not competed, there would be no food for him and his family. It is the hunger to survive that made Pacquiao one of the best boxers of all time. Although some might say that he has had some losses, he can claim the title of the best pound-for-pound boxer.
We look back at Manny Pacquiao’s boxing career, it was legendary. From stepping in on short notice and face Marco Barrera. Many were in awe of Pacquiao’s speed and power, his opponent described him as fighting multiple opponents in the ring.
Although he went on to lose against Erik Morales in their first encounter, he then went on to adjust beat Morales twice in their trilogy fight. After that he then went on to become the best boxer in the world, beating champions after champions.
Pacquiao has beaten a lot of big names like Marquez, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito and even Mosley. Most fans wanted to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather at their prime but sadly it was a bit late when it finally happened.
Who would have thought Manny Pacquiao would go on and become a champion at 40 years of age and not only that beating Keith Thurman. Many thought that Pacquiao was now out of his prime and should retire but then went on to become the WBA champion. That moment alone defied father time.
Now he was originally booked to face Errol Spence Jr but sadly Spence was forced to withdraw due to an eye injury. Yordenis Ugas replaced Spence as his next opponent and win, lose or draw it could possibly be Pacquiao’s last fight. Could Pacman defy father time once more?
