Lightweight?!?
Yep, it would seem Conor McGregor doesn’t have to deal with the featherweight division just yet. Interim champion Jose Aldo will have to keep the division warm a bit longer. Speaking to TMZ, UFC president Dana White dropped a bombshell.
Discussing where McGregor needs to fight next, White said a third fight with Nate Diaz was out of the question. He also revealed McGregor could keep his title and fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt.
Here are his comments.
“The war was fun and super successful, but I’m movin’ on.”
According to White, McGregor has two options for his next fight. McGregor can either make his first featherweight title defense against interim champion Jose Aldo, or he can fight current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for the title.
I wonder which fight Conor McGregor will choose?
