7. Forrest Griffin “R*pe is the New Missionary”
Yeah, you can’t say that. Forrest Griffin is a guy who likes to joke around. Well, if you joke about rape you are going to get a little blowback, that’s just how things go.
In late 2011, Griffin tweeted the phrase “R*pe is the new Missionary” but without the asterisks. This caused a massive uproar online, with numerous MMA websites stating that the UFC needs to take action.
Griffin would apologize and say that his tweet was meant to show that with all the sex-scandals that had been going on at the time, such as the Penn State scandal, that rape had become commonplace.
The UFC responded by stating they would be holding social media training for their fighters.
