This friggin’ heavyweight division. It always the same guys at the top and they all pull out of their fights. The two biggest fights in the division just got cancelled so I don’t know what you do.
The scheduled Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum bout for UFC 207 was cancelled after it was revealed Cain needed surgery. That bout would have determined Miocic’s next challenger. With that bout out you could just give the next bout to Werdum, though if that’s what the UFC wants to do I feel like they would have said so already.
Stefan Struve just pulled out of his upcoming fight with Junior Dos Santos, though it appears the hunt is on for a replacement. JDS is the last guy to beat Miocic, but he also dropped a fight to Alistair Overeem last year. If he can get by his replacement opponent you could give him the next shot.
No matter who gets the next title shot that bout will probably end up getting cancelled as well anyway. That’s just how it goes in the heavyweight division it seems.
I’m removing scrap digest from my feed .all these articles look like they are written by a casual fan. I really hope this isn’t a 1-8 ranking of these potential fights. There is no way in hell they put Carla Esparza back in the octagon with Joanna. That is a complete mismatch. Did you see the first fight. Joanna murdered her. There’s far better options. A 3rd Gadhela fight would be much better. A Karolina rematch , or an Andrade fight. Please stop talking fights
