It didn’t take long for boxing icon Floyd Mayweather to respond to Dana White about his $25-million offer. Shortly after White went on The Herd to publicly offer Mayweather $25-million to fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, the Las Vegas native appeared on TMZ to offer his take.
“He’s a (expletive) comedian,” Mayweather said about the offer.
“Look at that watch I bought. Do you know how much that costs? Look it up.”
Mayweather was pointing to a watch he was wearing – a Hublot LaFerrari. The watch goes from anywhere between $250,000 – $350,000. Mayweather is obviously telling White here that he wants to hear better numbers.
Dana White Recently Offered Floyd Mayweather A Lump Sum To Fight Conor McGregor
Historically, Mayweather has done at least $20-million per fight in the latter part of his career.
White’s offer was to give both Mayweather and McGregor $25-million to make the fight. He had also offered Mayweather a cut of the Pay-Per-View back-end. The UFC President’s plan is to put the Mayweather-McGregor bout. (Presumably a boxing match). In the main event of a UFC card.
He says he wants to stack the card with another title fight and some good supporting bouts like he normally would. He also referenced the fact that in the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout, fans didn’t get their money’s worth because the undercard was terrible and the main event didn’t live up to expectations.
The offer obviously wasn’t enough for Mayweather who is used to making way much more in previous fights.

Mayweather Obviously Wasn’t Satisfied With The Offer
Whether or not this fight gets made is another question altogether. Negotiations of a mega boxing bout is already very difficult. This crossover bout incredibly complicates a lot of things. At the very least however, talks have begun between the two camps albeit in public.
There is great fan interest in seeing this fight. So it has that going for it. And when fans are interested, that’s usually what gets fights made. Let’s see how the story develops.
