Notable Test Failures: Diego Brandao and Frank Mir
Notably Hasn’t Failed since USADA Testing Began– Alistair Overeem
Alistair Overeem is the most interesting guy to look at in the new USADA drug testing era. Here is a guy who has failed multiple tests, looks to be absolutely juiced to the gills and has a head that appears to have tripled in size over the years.
Yet under the new testing regime Overeem looks as good as he ever has. He very likely could end the year as UFC heavyweight champion. So either he’s just doing surprisingly good off the juice, or he knows a way to get away with it that other guys don’t.
Diego Brandao tested positive in early 2016, then brought a gun to a strip club and later got fired from the UFC. It’s been a sub-par year for him thus far.
Frank Mir tested positive after his 1st round knockout loss to Mark Hunt in Australia back in March, a test failure he blames on tainted kangaroo meat he ate. Mir had previously received a TRT exemption.
